Education challenges: ABUAD ex-VC, Osho, to lead national statekeholders’ conference

The pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Ekiti State, Prof. Sidi Osho, will on Wednesday, September 18, deliver the third National Education Stakeholders Conference scheduled for Lagos.

She will speak on “Private Initiatives and the Nigerian Education Sector: Gains, Shortfalls, and Ways Forward.”.

The convener of the conference, Mrs Modupe Onabanjo, who is the CEO of Education Update International, gave this hint in a statement on Thursday.

She noted that the precarious state of the education sector in the country has necessitated constant probes and deliberations on the way forward and the attainment of global standards.

She named other speakers at the event to include Prof. Godwin Oyedokun, co-founder, OGE Professional Services Limited, and Dr. Femi Mosaku Johnson, Founding Registrar/CEO, Association of Corporate Governance Professionals of Nigeria.

While the former will speak on “Impacts of Efficient Education Budgeting in National Development,” the latter will dissect the topic, “Effective Education Sector: Corruption and its Consequences.”

Onabanjo explained that the conference was designed to answer questions bordering on the current state of the education sector, the past, and where it should be.

“We will be holistic about the conference, covering both the private and public education sectors to ensure our education system is capable of producing a workforce for the global economy.
