Edo police arrest three for stripping girl naked over phone theft

THREE persons are presently cooling off inside a police cell in Benin over a viral video which had one Miss Favour Ada stripped naked and tortured for alleged theft.

Ada was said to have stolen an iPhone worth over N400,000, at Ugbiyoko located on the outskirts of the Edo state capital.

The video which is all over the social media saw the 25-year-old fair-complexioned lady being stripped naked and tortured before grounded pepper was inserted into her private part by her attackers.

A source at the Edo state police headquarters who would not want his name confided that the three suspects are already in police custody.”Yes, three suspects have been arrested. They were picked up at Ugbiyoko axis of the town.

They accused her of stealing an iPhone worth about N440,000 and did all that to her,” the source said.

It was learnt that the victim who was seriously injured, is presently recuperating at the intensive care unit of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).

Determined efforts to speak with the Edo State police spokesman, Mr  Chidi Nwabuzor proved futile, as he was said to have accompanied the Commissioner Police, Mr Hakeem Odumosu to Abuja for an official visit.
