Edo NMA donates food items to commemorate Obaseki’s 66th birthday

In line with the desire of Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State that his 66th birthday anniversary be commemorated by well wishers by donating to charity, the state’s chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), has made donations of food items, toiletries, detergents and other items to the Roseluyi Exceptional Students Academy School in Benin City.

Governor Obaseki had issued a statement, requesting that all activities to mark his birthday should convert to donations to the school of special needs.

The doctors’ association lauded the exemplary leadership of the governor, which they said had continued to make life meaningful for the people, including the underprivileged and expressed joy over Obaseki’s decision to celebrate his birthday with the underprivileged.

The state chairman of NMA, Dr Udoka Umoisili, who was represented by the association’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Dr Emeka Okoh, while congratulating the state governor, said the donated items were made for the children’s upkeep and prayed that God should empower Obaseki to record more feats for the people of the state.

“We are presenting these to the management of the school to help in catering for these children with special needs and, at the same time we want to congratulate the executive governor of the state,” Umoisili said.

Responding on behalf of the proprietor of the school, Rosemary Osaremen Aluyi, who was represented by the administrator of the school, Michael Gabriel, thanked the state NMA for considering the welfare of the students and assured the items will be used judiciously.
