Edo guber: I’m best Labour Party candidate — Imansuagbon

One of the leading governorship aspirants under the banner of the Labour Party (LP) in Edo State, Mr Kenneth Imansuangbon, has said that he remained the only aspirant that could secure victory for the party in the September 2024 governorship election in the state.

Imansuangbon, who is popularly known as the ‘Rice Man’, also noted that the Edo governorship polls was between the masses, the state government and the Federal Government.

The LP governorship aspirant who spoke after submitting his nomination and expression of interest forms at the party secretariat in Abuja, added that he represented the masses, hence he was nicknamed ‘Street Governor.’

This was just as he affirmed that he had a direct connection to the masses of Edo State because of his antecedents, expressing confidence that the Edo people would reciprocate his love for them over the years.

The educationist and lawyer also appealed to members and leaders of the LP to allow a free and fair primary and not allow the process to be skewed to the highest bidder.

“I just submitted my nomination form and I am set for the party primary. The primary is the only hurdle for me because I know I can defeat any candidate presented by both the PDP and the APC. Members of both opposition parties will switch to the Labour Party if I win the primary.

“All I am asking for is a free and fair primary. We need it for the unity of our party. I am the best aspirant to win this election for our party. I am the street Governor. I am known by all across the state.

“I can tell you that Edo people are waiting to have me on the ballot because they are tired of the shenanigans of the PDP and APC. Edo cannot afford another tenure of the present misgovernance and it is only the Labour Party that can bring prosperity to the state,” Imansuagbon submitted.

The National Organizing Secretary of the party, Clement Ojuchukwu, members of the National Working Committee (NWC) and the South/South Chairman of LP Chief Tony Eze-Agu, received the aspirant and promised that the party would give a free level playing field to all aspirants in the forthcoming primaries.
