Edo APC crisis will end after governorship primary ― Ize-iyamu

A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has predicted that the crisis currently rocking the party in Edo State will come to an end once a winner emerges in the governorship primary.

Ize-Iyamu, former South-South zonal vice-chairman of the ruling party who spoke with journalists in Benin yesterday declared that whoever emerged as the party candidate for the forthcoming governorship election would be given the necessary support.

He said: “I see the crisis in Edo APC as a small problem and every problem has an expiration date. The expiration date for this crisis is when the nomination for the governorship ticket is done.”

The APC top member explained that even in major wars, the combatants eventually have to sit down on the conference table and find out what led to the war and agree on how to settle it amicably.

“Several committees have been set up for the purpose of reconciliation and some persons have rejected it. So as it stands now, it is the only nomination that can end the crisis.

“The party will not postpone the nomination process because people are quarrelling so when tickets are being sold and bought people will recognise authority.

“And if you think there is a faction and you boycott, that will be your problem. Of course, it is only one name that will go to INEC. So the problem in APC will soon expire when the nomination is done,” he said.

Ize-Iyamu sad that he was not desperate to grab the party’s ticket, pledging that if he did not win the primary, he will gladly support any aspirant that eventually emerged as the party’s candidate in the forthcoming governorship elections in the state.
