AHEAD of the 2019 general elections, the Etsu-Nupe of Warri and its environs, Alhaji Zuberu Tajudeen, has charged youths to walk away from being used and dumped as political thugs during electioneering.
Tajudeen gave the advice on Tuesday in Warri, Delta State while speaking with journalists on the significance of Id el Maulud celebration.
Tajudeen explained that Id el Maulud was celebrated annually to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammed.
He noted that Nigeria needed peace to have a successful election in 2019.
He also advised politicians to accept defeat in the interest of peace, noting that power belongs to the Almighty God.
“Parents should advise their children that election is not a do-or-die affair, youth should not be used by politicians, whoever God wants to rule will definitely rule.
“The candidates should also learn to accept defeat because power comes from the Almighty God.
“Whoever God has chosen to be there must be there. Let us not kill ourselves for one another,” he advised.

He urged the Federal Government to improve on the security apparatus of the country to engender peace and unity.
Tajudeen said the best protection comes from God, but commended the Nigerian Army, 3 Battalion, Effurun and the Nigeria Police, Warri Area Command for curtailing the activities of cultists terrorising his domain in recent times.
“We have been sleeping well in the past few days because of the intervention of security operatives in conjunction with the local vigilantes in our area,” he said.
