Economic summit: El-rufai to launch 2018-2050 infrastructure master plan

KADUNA State Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mohammed Sani Abdullahi, has disclosed that Governor Nasir El-Rufai, will launch the state strategic Infrastructure Master Plan 2018 to 2050 during the economic summit in April next month.

Speaking with journalists in Kaduna on on Wednesday on the activities lined up for the 2017 State economic summit tagged  ‘ Making Kaduna the Investment Destination of Choice’ said the present administration has opened up business opportunities and created investment friendly environment for the investors.

The commissioner explained that  apart from the last year’s maiden summit which attracted massive investments in Kaduna: “We are once again inviting  international and local investors to come and invest in the fastest growing state in the country and the best state of doing business in the country”

He further said that governor will discuss with his North West fellow governors over the possibility of launching regional development strategy.

According to him:  “A month ago, if you are looking for labourers in Kaduna State you have to book because almost all of them were on our projects sites’’ Our development partners have invested much in Kaduna. We will launch Kaduna Infrastructure Master Plan 2018 to 2050 during the next month economic summit 5-6 April, 2017”

“We had a good number of foreign and domestic investors in our last year’s economic summit. This year, we are also inviting the world again to come and see things for themselves in Kaduna State. We want to show what we have achieved in both private and public sectors. Kaduna state has been adjudged as the best state of doing business in the country” the commissioner said.

On his part, State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr. Manzo Maigari, said Kaduna will start e-business registration in the next two weeks to fasten the economic activities in the state.

Manzo, noted that among other projects embarked upon by the state government, the administration will bring foreign investors to revive all tourist sites adding that tourism is a driver of economy worldwide.

Manzo said: “We have done much and still doing to bring more investors to Kaduna. We are looking in various sectors to create jobs for our youths. We have created jobs and we will not relent for our unemployed youths”
