The meeting follows the president’s directive to release 42,000 metric tons of grains to ameliorate the situation.
The biting economic hardship and the growing insecurity in the country are thought to be high on the agenda of the meeting.
President Tinubu is scheduled to depart later in the day for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to attend the African Union (AU) Summit.
Vice President Kashim Shettima is also in the villa meeting alongside governors in attendance of Ekiti, Delta, Borno, Lagos, Kwara, Nasarawa, and Edo.
Others are governors of Yobe, Anambra, Akwa Ibom, Abia, Plateau, Kaduna, Sokoto, Niger, Taraba, Adamawa, Cross River, Ogun and Enugu.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, Nyesom Wike is also in attendance.
