Gbenga Daniel
Senator Gbenga Daniel has appealed to Nigerians not to lose hope in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration despite the current economic hardships Nigerians face.
He spoke on Monday during his Thank You Tour to Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area in Ogun East Senatorial District, which featured the distribution of palliatives, feedback on senatorial activities, and free health care services, among other activities.
Daniel, a two-term Governor of Ogun from 2003-2011, expressed his wish that Tinubu could address Nigerians on the State of the Nation. However, he noted that Tinubu couldn’t do so because his party, the All Progressives Congress, was partly responsible for the untold hardship on the people.
He pleaded with Nigerians to persevere and cooperate with the current government in changing the country’s dwindling fortunes.
“Our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done a lot. I wish he could talk now, but he can’t because this is the same party he stood for. However, we just have to praise his courage. We know things are very difficult, but we need to encourage Mr. President. We urge our people to be patient, and by the special grace of God, everything will be alright,” he said.
At the event, over 12,000 food packs were distributed to constituents, and locals were empowered with tools such as grinding machines, generators, and sewing machines.

“We have been doing this for nearly 30 years, and we are not going to rest until we completely eradicate poverty in our land. It is particularly important that we give more concentration on food items because of what has happened to our economy. We will not stop. We are going to all nine local governments doing the same thing, and we hope that we would be doing one per month so that at every point, we would be helping the government of the day.”
The Senator called for prayers for the President, insisting that Nigerians’ unity would also make things easier.
