THE Chairman Globacom, Dr Mike Adenuga Jr, has advocated the need for the promotion of Nigeria’s tourism potentials to boost economic growth.
Adenuga said this in his goodwill message read on his behalf by Mr Folu Aderibigbe, to the audience at the 2019 edition of Ojude Oba Festival, which Globacom is the major sponsor, held at the Awuale’s Pavilion, Ijebu-Ode, on Tuesday.
The business guru also harped on the need for government at all levels to work cooperate and design strategies to nip security challenges in the bud, so as to harness the huge tourism potentials available in the country.
He said: “Our tourism industry can only grow in an atmosphere of peace and security of lives and property.”
The Globacom boss while facilitating with the Awujale and Paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, for tremendous achievements recorded in his reign, said his company was always conscious of its pact with the people of Nigeria to support, grow and develop noble causes such as Ojude Oba which had assumed international status with the support of the telecoms firm.

Adenuga added that Ijebu people are so lucky to have Oba Adetona as monarch without compare
while congratulating all Ijebus for witnessing this year’s festival.
He assured Nigerians of constant delivery of optimum quality service and products as the acclaimed game-changer in the telecommunication industry

Meanwhile, one of the highlights of the festival was the handing over of 10 tricycles to lucky customers of Globacom Raffle Draw.
The ten lucky winners were picked at the draw conducted by the Awujale of Ijebu, Oba Sikiru Adetona at the end of the colourful and boisterous age-grade and family parades complete with a durbar, masquerades and gun displays that was the main event of the festival.
Over a hundred customers were given raffle tickets as they purchased items from any Gloworld in the environs of Ijebu Ode, weeks before and during the main event of the festival.
