Ebonyi: Ndibe beach crossing construction to commence soon — Umahi

Published by

Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi has disclosed that the construction of work at Ndibe Beach, Afikpo in Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi to link Cross River, will soon commence.

Umahi made this known when he visited the beach alongside other officials of his Ministry to conduct last inspection of the beach for crossing construction.

According to him, the Beach crossing was part of Renewed Hope Agenda project that will be beneficial to Ebonyi and Cross River State when completed.

He then urged the people of the area to continue to support the government of President Ahmed Tinubu that have shown commitment to ensuring that all the projects embarked on are completed in record time.

Nothing was set for the commencement of the project having secured all the necessary approvals and called on the people of the area to ensure the protection of lives and properties of those who would execute the job.

Responding, the Leader of Ebonyi State House of Assembly and Member Representing Afikpo West State Constituency, Hon Kingsley Ikoro commended Minister David Umahi, for attracting the project for the people of Afikpo and said the project will bring to an end, the risk faced by farmers while transporting their goods thereby improving economic growth and open up the area for wider infrastructural development.

Ikoro then promised the Minister that the people of Afikpo would support the administration of President Tinubu and also provide maximum security that would protect the equipment that would be used for the project his people of Afikpo over the years have yearned for.

He, however, said the project when completed will be a legacy project of the Renewed Hope Agenda administration of President Tinubu.

Also, the House of Assembly Member Representing Afikpo East State Constituency, Hon Ukie Ezeali said that the developmental and economic importance of the project to Afikpo people when completed cannot be overemphasized adding that it will boast the ease of doing business in the area and link the city to other neighbouring towns.

However, the Minister also inspected the failed section of Amaiyi-Edda road in Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and directed the repair of the failed section to improve connectivity among communities.
