Ebonyi lawmaker reassures constituents on effective representation

People of Ohaozara East constituency in Ebonyi state have charged the lawmaker representing them at the statehouse of Assembly to ensure that all agricultural grants, loans, seedlings and other Agricultural inputs allocate to farmers in their constituency gets to the farmers at all time.
The people made the call at A-zed Hotel Okposi in Ohaozara Local Government area during a town hall meeting organised by the honourable member representing them at Ebonyi state House of Assembly Hon Chinwe Lilian Nwachukwu with support from the International Republican Institute (IRI) with funding from USAID.
According to the people who commended the Lawmaker for being the first elected politician in the area who have returned to her constituents after election to checkmate the challenges bothering them,  charged the lawmaker to assist and renovate all the dilapidated community primary and secondary schools, construct new classrooms, to help mostly the pupils studying under the tree in some part of the area.
They also charged her to influence the construction of teachers quarters in their community schools which will help to checkmate every activities of the school children in the area even as they demand that she create measures to checkmate out of school children that hawk during school hours and enrol them in school. According to them, it would help to reduce criminality, Cultism and all other social vices among their school children.
They further advocate for an empowerment opportunity for the indigents, less privileged and widows in their area.
However, the constituents further highlighted some other problems facing them which includes, grading of their rural roads, digging of boreholes, reconstruction of their market, and non-approval of WAEC centres in some of their schools, insecurity, empowerment, etc.
Responding to the challenges and demand of her people, the Lawmaker assured her constituents that she will ensure that all their challenges are well-taking care of with the assistance of the governor.
Her words” I will lobby well to represent my people very well. This is just my two months in office and I have before now engaged them in a security meeting and the mission of the meeting was to engage security personnel to fight cultism in our area , I have also been able to collect out of school children names whom we are going to enrol in school by September and by so doing, all these insecurities that is very high in my constituency will reduce.
“The people who have problem in the hospital and I have gone to the hospital to help them and settled their bills including empowerment of some constituency members.
“I have engaged an NGO that has gone round to do a survey for me in the health care centres to enable me to know what I need to do in those areas. I have been sensitizing People also to keep their environment clean to avoid diseases.
“I would be looking forward to putting toilet facilities in the market of my area,” she said
The meeting engaged vigilante groups, community leaders, market women, market heads, people living with disability, political leaders, youths organizations and other groups from the area.
