Music icon, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey- Fabiyi has lauded the family of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, board, management and staff of the African Newspaper of Nigeria (ANN) Plc, publishers of the Tribune titles, on the re-branding of the newspaper, as part of the activities marking the 70th anniversary of the organisation.
Speaking with R Obey, described the event as a landmark, unique and highly incredible achievement in celebrating 70 solid years of progressive journalism as the oldest newspaper in the country.
“I am happy and privileged to be part of the history of the progress of the legacy of the Awolowo dynasty, which is marvelous in our sight, because Tribune has not only become the mouthpiece for the voice of the masses; it is also a pride of the Yoruba race and an institution that is second to none.
“I congratulate the Chairman, Ambassador (Dr) Tokunbo Awolowo Dosumu; the MD/EIC, Mr Edward Dickson, the entire editorial team and staff on the incredible success story of the Tribune titles in the last 70 years. I pray for more outstanding strides in the years ahead and grant you all the grace to keep the Awolowo legacies in perpetual relevance even for the generation unborn,” he stated.
