He eats and licks his fingers without leaving food allowance, woman tells court

Published by

A woman, Folake Musibau has dragged her husband, Aminu Musibau to Ile Tuntun Customary  Court, Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Folake alleged that her husband was irresponsible and stubborn. She, therefore, prayed the court to separate her and her husband.

She also sought the custody of their four children.

“I married my husband 19 years ago, but our  marriage has not been a successful one, all because of my  husband’s  nonchalant attitude to life.

“He  is lazy, irresponsible and neglects  our children and I.

“we don’t feel his impact in the home as husband and father.

“He is  not bothered if  we eat or not. He works as a tree cutter and  goes to work whenever he feels like.

“I sell planks and  I single handedly feed, clothe and  train the children in school, ”the  plaintiff said.

“My husband is shameless; he sits down comfortable and eats whatever food I prepare and even lick his  fingers without contributing a dime towards its preparation.

“I  find it hard to save because I spend all my income running the home.

“He once took another wife who ran away when she couldn’t cope with his irresponsible act.

“My lord, my husband is not a serious human being and can never change. I’m therefore, no more interested in our marriage, “She concluded.

The defendant  failed to appear in court after being served a summon.

Giving his judgment, Chief Ademola  Odunade, dissolved the union and granted the plaintiff custody of the two younger children and ordered that he pays N10,000 monthly as feeding allowance.  The first two children  were said to be in the defendant’s custody.
