Easter: Show solidarity with present administration, Southern Senators urge Nigerians

Federal lawmakers from the southern part of the country have appealed to Nigerians to embrace the values of unity, compassion, sacrifice, and solidarity.

The lawmakers operating under the platform, the Nigerian Southern Senators’ Forum, made the admonition in an Easter message made available to newsmen in Abuja.

Chairman and Publicity Secretary of the Forum, Senators Adetokunbo Abiru and Asuquo Ekpenyong, in a joint statement, enjoined Nigerians to show empathy and understanding while we await the gains of the government’s bold reforms and initiatives.

“In the spirit of this joyous occasion, let us embrace the values of unity, compassion, sacrifice, and solidarity.

“Let us reach out to our fellow citizens with kindness, understanding, and empathy, especially during these challenging times, while we await the gains of the government’s bold reforms and initiatives.

Let us renew our patriotism and our commitment to building a stronger, more prosperous, and more united Nigeria.”

“May this Easter bring us all abundant blessings, peace, and happiness. May it inspire us to strive for excellence and to foster harmony in our communities,” the forum said.

The forum also commended the courage of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the National Assembly, led by Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio, for their efforts in national development.

“The Southern Senators Forum commends His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the President of the Senate, His Excellency, Senator (Dr) Godswill Obot Akpabio, for their unwavering dedication and leadership in advancing our nation’s development agenda.

“The collaborative efforts between the executive and legislature and the visionary initiatives have significantly contributed to the progress and prosperity of our country.

“We wish all Nigerians a blessed and joy-filled Easter celebration,” the statement added.
