To commemorate Easter, wife of the Oyo State governor, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde has handed cash, consumables, toiletries, and other items to the vulnerable and special children in orphanages in the state.
The gesture, according to the wife of the governor, was borne out of her love to give some succour to the less privileged and downtrodden in society.
Makinde, represented by a member of Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Olufunke Comforter, added that the gesture was to encourage the beneficiaries not to lose sight of a better future ahead.
She added that the items would go a long way in assisting them to cushion the effect of the current economic hardship.
Homes visited included Heritage Home, Oluyole; Treasure Down Syndrome and Person with Special Needs Foundation, Ring Road; Galilee Foundation, Oluyole; Yeshua Christos home, Felele; God Treasure Kiddies Initiative; The Ark of Hope for All Foundation, and Agbedare Jesus Care Foundation, Orogun amongst others.
Beneficiaries of the items thanked Governor Seyi Makinde and wife for the gesture, saying Makinde’s effort to improve the plight of the masses in the state was noteworthy.
