Easter: Better days are here – Bishop, Kwara Anglican Church

Bishop of the Diocese of Kwara Anglican Communion, Rt. Reverend Sunday Timothy Adewole, has urged Nigerians to be hopeful despite the present challenges confronting the nation.

The cleric made the call in Easter service at the Cathedral of Saint Barnabas Anglican Church, Sabo-Oke, Ilorin, Kwara state on Sunday, saying that better days are coming.

“We should be hopeful in an hopeless situation because the Lord is there. He has the ability to turn things around for good”, he said.

On the aftermath of the 2023 general elections, the bishop said that no one can come to power except the Lord says, advising aggrieved Nigerian politicians to seek redress in court.

“Nobody can come to power except the Lord put him there. If we want to seek redress, we should go the legal way. We should not incite people. We should follow the law of the land and then hope on the lord”, he said.

Speaking on the essence of Easter festivities, Bishop Adewole said that Easter celebration is the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

“Today Jesus rose to defeat Satan and to open the gate of eternity for believers. Today is so important because if there is no resurrection there will be no Christianity. He rose that is why we have confidence to know that even after lesving this world there will be place in the Kingdom”, he said.

Also, the Speaker, Kwara state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engineer Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has congratulated Christian faithful on the occasion of the Easter festival.

Engineer Danladi-Salihu, in his message to Christian faithful, harped on the need for them to imbibe the lesson and essence of Easter, ask for forgiveness and renew their commitment to God.

The Speaker also asked the faithful to continue to pray for Nigeria and her leaders in order for the country to experience sustainable growth and prosperity.

“On this great occasion of Easter, I wish my Christian brothers and sisters compliment of the season and many happy returns”, he said.
