I don’t know why some people prove to be too adamant. I was coming from a filling station two weeks ago and when I got to Oke Ado market in Ibadan, Oyo State, it started rain and so I had to run for cover.
Where I was standing, I saw some market women and other people dumoing waste in the drainage.
I was disturbed that in spite all the announcements and warnings by the government on the negative effects of that practice, people refused to stop the practice.
Effective waste managent is one of the reasons the government provided trucks to pack waste from houses, shops and markets.
The waste dumped in drainages can block water from passing through it. And before long, there will be flood everywhere.
The government must punish the perpetrators severely. Nigerians, let’s put an end to the practice. It is for our own good.
