The outgone Spokesperson of the Nation’s secret police who disclosed this to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday at a news conference, however, was silent over his next duty post but described it as a normal routine exercise in the Service to the Nation.
Dr Afunaya expressed deep appreciation to the Service for the opportunity to serve the country as the Spokesman of the covert security outfit for the past 10 years.
He also pledged his commitment to the Service and the country by ensuring to always do his best in whatever capacity he is chosen to serve.
While acknowledging the tremendous support he received from the Press during his tenure, Afunaya promised that he would continue to carry out his duty in service to the country with “love, loyalty, honour and glory.”
The new DG Mr Adeola Ajayi, assumed office last Thursday with a promise to refocus the Service towards covertness and studied silence.
