Earlier, the police prosecutor, Insp. Ibrahim Gowkat told the court that the case was transferred from the Laranto Police Station, Jos, on Sept. 23, 2019, to the State’s Anti-Robbery Unit for investigation.
Gowkat said the defendant committed the offence with one other person still at large on Sept. 6 in Jos.
He said that the defendant and his accomplice armed themselves with knives and other weapons and snatched the complainant’s, Mr Mubarak Musa, telephones.
“They forcefully took the phones and money and in the process injured the complainant’s brother Mr Dayabu Abdullahi,” he said.
Gowkat said the offence contravened Sections 59, 277 and 217 of the Plateau State Penal Code, Law of Northern Nigeria.
