Drinking wine at 70

Published by

I am a 70-year-old man who has been taking about 3 glasses of wine every evening for a long time. Can I still continue

The consumption of three glasses of wine daily is equal to taking between 45-60 grams of alcohol every single day and depends mostly on your body size which nobody actually measures properly.

This amount of alcohol intake per day is akin to heavy drinking.  In addition, daily consumption of alcohol of this quantity disrupts the deep sleep stages needed by our bodies to recover and regenerate itself, leads to chronic hypertension condition and increases the chance of breast cancer developing in women, also by a measurable amount for every drink.

There is also a neurological dependence formed so slowly that most people do not even notice it until there is no alcohol anymore to support it and the first time they go through it and experience increased irritability for no apparent reason.

It will therefore be wise if you can reduce the amount of wine you consume or to stop taking wine.
