Drama as Laide Bakare, Eniola Badmus clash at movie premiere

Published by

A dramatic scene took over the spotlight at the premiere of the Nollywood movie Owambe Thieves on Sunday, as popular actresses Laide Bakare and Eniola Badmus got into a heated argument at Circle Mall, Lekki, Lagos.

A video that went viral on Monday showed both actresses exchanging harsh words in public.

During the argument, Bakare asked Badmus if she was mentally okay, a question that made Badmus glare at her before walking away.

In the middle of the drama, a man in a suit—believed to be Badmus’ bodyguard—tried to calm things down, but Bakare stood her ground and refused to back off.

After the incident, Bakare posted screenshots of private messages between her and Badmus on Instagram.

In the chat, Badmus reportedly called out Bakare for sharing an unflattering photo of her online, describing it as “animalistic behaviour.”

Bakare replied by calling Badmus ungrateful. She said she gave Badmus her first big acting role at a time when movie producers didn’t want to work with her because of her weight.

The clash has since caused a stir on social media, with fans and Nollywood stars sharing their thoughts on the fallout between the two actresses.
