When she proceeded on her maiden American tour, her expectations were limited. As excited as she was, Doyinsola was not privy to how far her music had travelled around the world. The tour would later revealed that good music respects no boundaries.
For somebody who has had music collaborations with established acts like Sound Sultan, 9ice and others, Doyin sola has always been passionate about putting her music on the world map, even as she pays more attention to growing her brand from the local scene.
The US tour took her to a number of cities where her music was well embraced, even to her surprise. In cities like Indiana where she performed at the opening of Club Klakuta, the reception, according to her management 23/25 Entertainment headed by Femi Fada, was overwhelming.
She also performed in Chicago at The Velvet lounge and at Club Mirage in Columbus Ohio. The budding star, who was also a guest on Apex 1Radio in Columbus, where she discussed her journey into music, revealed she would love to be the first Nigerian artiste to feature Rihanna.
Since her return a few days back, Doyinsola had been busy performing at different shows within and outside the Lagos metropolis. Asked what her next plans would be, the singer said she would be releasing visuals to her new song Rewind, which was shot in the US.
She also hinted that the new single that featured one of DMW’s stars, Yonda, would hit the airwaves in a matter of weeks.
“I am excited to be back. The reception in the US was massive. To say the least. I think I am beginning to see that my music has travelled beyond the shores of the country. Right now, I am back to continue the movement and in a matter of weeks, a new music is coming and more in the New Year,” she said.
