It was a colourful and memorable moment for Justice of the Peace and the Olootu of Iwo-Oke Kingdom, High Chief Kunle Alabi, when the African Institute For Justices of the Peace added two prestigious feathers to his cap.
The Feesu, Iwo-born Journalist, who is a Senior Lecturer and Dean, Faculty of the Management Sciences, Iwo City Polytechnic, Feesu, Iwo was conferred with honors on Saturday, 21st September, 2024 alongside many other dignitaries. The doctoral fellowship by the AIJP was for his distinguished service and commitment to advancing justice and peace in Africa.
Delivering his paper, at this year’s International Peace Day, entitled “Building a Culture of Peace in Africa: now is the Time to Take Action”, Dr. Enemaku Idachaba of the Department of Political Science, University of Ibadan, stated that ‘if you’re not part of the solution, you are part of the problem’.
He counselled that people should be ready to love one another. He stressed the need to be just.
The investiture started with the induction of 17 new Ambassadors/Fellows, one full member, and 22 Doctoral Fellows.
Conferring the Doctoral Fellowship and African Peace Ambassador on Alabi, the Chairman, of the Governing Council of the African Institute For Justices of the Peace, Dr Akande Kazeem Babatunde enjoined Chief Adekunle Alabi to continue to be a good Ambassador of Peace and Justice in Africa.
Four other persons including the Oluwo of Iwo Oke, Oba Adbulkadiri Olatunde Adeoye II, were honoured at the event.
