Obaseki and Oshiomhole
Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has cautioned government officials against joining issues with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole who recently commented on the frosty relationship between him and the governor.
In a joint statement issued in Benin yesterday by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr. Paul Ohunbamu and the Special Adviser on media to Obaseki, Mr. Crusoe Osagie, they noted that the government has chosen to pursue the path of peace and reconciliation in dealing with issues in the interest of APC and the state.
The statement read: “The state government observed over the weekend very hostile statements credited to our revered National Chairman of APC across various media platforms.
“The latest onslaught against the governor and government of Edo State has been trailed by inquiries about the state government’s response to these attacks from various stakeholders both within and outside the country.
“Consequently, the state governor has instructed that no state actor, within the state government should make any comment whatsoever or join issues on the ensuing hostile comments and discussions.”
In the interview with the television station, Oshiomhole had declared that he was highly worried by the fact that Obaseki abandoned some of the projects he started when he was governor between 2008 and 2016.
