Sabina, who spoke to journalists at a press conference recently in Lagos, said that this is the most appropriate time for Nigerians to think out of the box and discharge their voting rights without bloodshed, and enthrone transformational leadership in power.
“Specifically for 2018, Nigerians need to finally realize that there are no special awards given to agents of violence during the election or at any other time.
“We ought to be tolerant enough to allow every Nigerian to use their voting rights peacefully and freely and consequently, enthrone the people ‘s Choice with transformational leadership skills,” she said.
While speaking on Pray4NaijaWaka Concert, She explained that the purpose of the concert is to infuse into the minds of Nigerians that electoral violence does not pay but rather further endanger the development of the people specifically and Nigeria at large.
“We are calling out Nigerians to realize the folly in electoral violence, and using this event as a tool for reorientation, bringing to light our responsibilities in nation building.
“When we obey the laws of the land, it simply means that we want a decent society that’s free from terrorism, killings, mailings, kidnapping and all sorts that could negatively affect the image of the country.
“The goal is to connect with Nigerians globally by projecting patriotism as the key feature in Nation building; and promoting good governance, pointing out that “PRAY4NAIJAWAKA is not representing any group or religion, because this movement is bigger than any group of persons, and our concern goes far beyond religious sentiments. This is about Nigeria and Nigerians, and our mindset regarding our duties to our fatherland” She added.
The Convener also called on all Nigerians home and abroad to stop speaking ill about the country, but rather pray for the advancement of the country in all ramifications to the extent that there would be positive perception towards it.
Sabina said that Nigerians shouldn’t take to saying negative things that may eventually affect the development of the country instead resort to God in prayers for a positive change.
“We are calling out to Nigerians all over the world to stop speaking ill/negatively about our great nation. When things go wrong, or when we expect more from our leadership, there are proper ways and avenues to communicate our grievances rather than cursing, swearing, or mocking.
“This is the time to speak positively about our country; nation-building is teamwork and this is the message we hope to drive home though,” She said.
