The charge was given by the State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir while receiving the new Police Commissioner who paid him a familiarization/courtesy visit at the Government House on Thursday stressing that the issue of security should not be trivialized by any means.

Bala Mohammed further charged the new Commissioner of Police to work with the state government in addressing various forms of security challenges from across the state considering the terrain.

The Governor said that his administration is committed to providing all the needed support for the activities of security which he said must not be toyed with calling on the Commissioner not be influenced by self-centred personalities no matter his/her status.

The Governor also advised him to provide a platform for discussing critical security issues with the Divisional Police Officers who are more on the ground to enhance their operations.

The Commissioner of Police Umar Sanda had earlier told the Governor that he was at the Government House to familiarise with the governor having been just transferred to the state.

He said that the Command will ensure that under his watch, crimes and criminality were reduced to the barest minimum stressing that the personnel will be adequately deployed.
