Don’t commercialise God’s grace, Adegboye tells clerics

Published by

Clerics  have been enjoined to desist from monetising the grace of God upon their lives by demanding for money and other pecuniary gains before prayers and deliverance.

This formed the crux of the sermon of the General Overseer of the Levites Christian Assembly, Ikolaba, Ibadan, Oyo State, Apostle Kingsley Adegboye, last Sunday as part of the activities marking the end of the three-day celebration of the church’s eighth anniversary.

He stressed the need for Christians to love all men irrespective of colour, creed, religion, church, among others.

He said: “I once prayed for a sick herbalist who became healed of a terminal disease. I didn’t demand money from him or consider the fact he was not a Christian. I cannot hate him or ask him for money because Jesus loves him and I could not ask for money because Jesus healed him and not me.

“It is when you show love to the people that they would be willing to accept your God.”

Other highlights  of the anniversary celebration service were presentation of certificates to graduands of the Levites School of prophets and priests, presentation of awards for distinguished service in the vineyard, ordination of new priest, among others.
