THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship aspirant, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, has rubbished report making the rounds that he has stepped down for Chief Olabode George.
Dokpesi’s media team stated that Chief Dokpesi has no intention of stepping down for anyone, as he is busy meeting with delegates across the federation.
“High Chief Dokpesi is busy meeting the delegates and outlining his programmes for the reformation and rebuilding of PDP. He is not considering stepping down for anyone as he is widely accepted by delegates across the country. He remains the candidate to beat.”
The team maintained that Dokpesi has visited 16 states and will visit the remaining 20 states and the FCT before the convention.
“As at noon of Saturday, July 30, we have visited all the states in the southern region, except Ekiti, which we are heading to now. We will be meeting delegates from the northern region as from Sunday, so, High Chief Dokpesi is committed to the campaign and he is confident that he will win by the grace of God and the support of the delegates,” the statement read.
