Lagos Assembly, Ajimobi commiserate with Tinubu on son’s death

Ajimobi and Tinubu

The Chairman, Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Information and Strategy, Mr Tunde Braimoh, on Wednesday commiserated with the National Leader of  the All Progressives Congress (APC) Sen. Bola Tinubu,  on the death of his son, Mr Jide Tinubu.

Braimoh, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the death of Jide was a “colossal devastation”.

“We received with a deep sense of loss and profound regrets the rather too soon passing of Jide Tinubu, one of the future bearers of the illustrious Tinubu dynasty.

”Losing such a prominent and promising young man at the unfolding stage of a great life is not only despairing and debilitating, it is quite demoralizing and dejecting,” he said.

The lawmaker, however, noted that death is a necessary end common to the young and old and therefore inescapable at one time or the other.

“What is therefore important is not how long, but how well.

“Jide led a good life but was recalled at a time when ordinary minds would summate as too soon, but which discerning and developed minds would submit to be the will of God.

“While I lack the adequate and appropriate words to describe this colossal devastation on the family of our venerated and revered mentor and tutor, I humbly remind him of his unusual and uncommon courage which had seen him through unsavory situations in the past.

“I therefore commiserate with the immediate and extended family of our National Leader, pray for the repose of the departed soul and for God to grant us the fortitude to bear this great loss of our beloved son and brother.”

NAN reports that the National Leader of the APC on Wednesday lost his first son,, Jide.

Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State also condoled with the APC National Leader in a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy, Mr Yomi Layinka in Ibadan on Wednesday.

Ajimobi described the news of Jide’s death as depressing, saying that ”the cold hands of death have snatched another promising and ebullient young man.”

He stated that the sudden death of the APC national leader’s son was not only shocking, but also unfortunate and disheartening.

“My dear Asiwaju, please accept my heartfelt condolences. On behalf of myself, family and the good people of Oyo State, I pray that God will give you the strength and courage to bear this monumental loss.

“My thoughts and prayers are with you in this trying period. With Jide’s death, the country has lost another shining star and future leader. May the Almighty comfort his wife, children and the entire family.”
