A woman, Mrs Taiwo Nasirudeen, has pleaded with the Ile-Tuntun Customary Court, Mapo Hall, Ibadan, Oyo State, to dissolve her 4-year-old marriage, because she has not had peace of mind since she married her husband.
She told the court that he did not take care of her and her child who is three years old and that he used to beat her whenever he is drunk. She said she’s fed up with him.
But the defendant, Nasirudeen Adewale, said he agreed with the claim because his wife is not contented with the little he has been doing for her, despite all the money he has been sending to her from Lagos.
“She dosn’t comply with my instructions; she packed out of the house without my knowledge, and there was nothing like a quarrel between us.
“When I saw her and asked her why she packed out without my knowledge, she said she was fed up and can’t cope any longer.
“There is nothing I can do again because she doesn’t love me anymore,” Adewale concluded.
President of the court, Chief Olasunkanmi Henry Agbaje, ordered the defendant to be paying N 4000 every month for the feeding allowance of the child and that the payment must start from December, 2016.
“Both parties should maintain peace, while the defendant should be responsible for health and education of the child,” Chief Agbaje said.
