Do these 7 things for luxury event planning on a budget

Published by

Planning a fancy event can be exciting and demanding at the same time, but you don’t need to spend too much money to make it a success. Whether it’s a wedding, birthday party, or just about any event. Here’s how to make your next event memorable without breaking the bank.

1. Set a budget first

People tend to overlook the power of budgeting, but you’ll be surprised how much a “small” budget can achieve. Before you start planning at all, have a realistic budget. Assess it to see if it stands the test of time and accommodates the needs at hand. It will help you decide how much you can afford to spend from the beginning. It’ll also help you prioritise what is important for your event and curb overspending.

2. Affordable venue and decor ideas

Your venue looks as great as you make it regardless of how much it costs. You don’t need to rent a fancy and expensive space for a luxury event. You can have it at your house, an open space, or just about anywhere.

Also, instead of buying expensive lights and decorations, you can make your own or opt for more affordable options such as balloons, flowers, plates, and other items. To further give your space an expensive and classy look, you should be intentional about your choice of colours; they’ll make everything look organised and fancy.

3. Rent what you need

Don’t buy. You’ll be surprised by how much can save while putting together a luxury event if you’ll rent instead of making purchases. Whether it’s decorative items, chairs, tables, linens, and other high-end items.

Different rental establishments offer you luxurious items at a low cost. You can have your luxurious event without paying so much money.

4. Limit the guest list

If you don’t plan for the number of guests you need or want at your event, you’ll be overwhelmed with the costs that come with uncertainty. A good way to limit this is to curate a small guest list and “RSVP” them. This way, you can achieve that classy event that you want and also make your guests feel like they are cared for.

5. Serve affordable but delicious food

For that luxury event, you don’t have to hire the services of a high-end caterer to make your event a success. Local and affordable food vendors are available to make you quality food and drink options. Any meal style works, as long as you’ve planned well for it. Other times, you can get people to bring gifts or edibles that they can afford to bring to the event. This is a very cost-effective way to feed your guests.

6. Find affordable entertainment

What’s an event without entertainment? You can curate a playlist of your favourite songs, hire a DJ, or an affordable music band. Who cares about the price when fun is present?

7. Keep the atmosphere relaxed and fun

Your luxury event is successful when people get value for their time and the environment is comfortable for them. What’s the point of a classy event when your guests are not comfortable and relaxed?

To plan that luxury event, you must be creative and attentive to even the smallest details. Remember, you don’t have to bear the burden all by yourself. It’ll be easier for you to get help from people who share the same vision of a small but luxurious event.
