THE Debt Management Office (DMO) on Tuesday said it has so far raised N410 billion from the domestic market to fund the 2018 budget.
Director general of DMO, Ms Patience Oniha who gave the figure during a press briefing in Abuja also disclosed that total public debt stock as at June 30, 2018, was N22.38 trillion or $73.21 for Federal Government, states and Federal Capital Territory.
“When compared to the debt data for March 2018, the Public Debt Stock actually decreased by 1.44 per cent from N22.707 trillion in March 2018 to N22.38 trillion in June.
Oniha however, disclosed that even though her agency had started borrowing the domestic portion of 2018 capital budget, National Assembly approval was still being awaited for the external portion.
