Egypt has announced its own reconstruction plan for the war-ravaged Gaza Strip, emphasisng its commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and ensuring stability in the region.

In a statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, Cairo expressed its willingness to collaborate with the U.S. to achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East.

“Egypt expresses its aspiration to cooperate with the U.S. administration to achieve a comprehensive and just peace in the region by reaching a just settlement of the Palestinian.

“This is the cause that upholds the rights of the region’s peoples,” said a statement by the Foreign Ministry in Cairo.,” the statement read.

Egypt stressed that rebuilding Gaza is crucial to enabling Palestinians to remain in their homeland while safeguarding their legitimate rights.

It reiterated its support for a two-state solution as the only path to long-term stability and peaceful coexistence in the region.

The announcement comes a week after President Trump proposed a controversial plan to take control of Gaza, relocate its nearly two million residents, and transform the coastal strip into a “Middle Eastern Riviera.”

Trump described Gaza in real estate terms, highlighting its location along the Mediterranean Sea and its potential for redevelopment.

However, both Egypt and Jordan have fiercely rejected the idea of resettling displaced Palestinians from Gaza, labeling the plan unrealistic and detrimental to regional peace efforts.
