Direct primaries: Don’t succumb to intimidation, Kaka urges party members

Kaka stated this while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after he met with party members in Odogbolu Local Government Area of the state, as part of his statewide consultative tour ahead of the primaries.
The aspirant who was a former deputy governor of the State asked them to come out in large numbers and be resolute in their determination to pick the right candidate
He decried the purported consensus arrangement by the party, saying such method would not be in the overall interest of the party.
The former lawmaker, “If you look at what some of them are arrogating to themselves that certain area would not be allowed to present candidates to even participate in the primaries, who are they?
“The National Working Committee states it in an unambiguous manner that where there is a single dissenting voice, you go to primary and the option of the primary is either direct or indirect and we have all collectively agreed to go direct.
“So, I don’t know why some people will want to scare people away. Many of those people that will be participating in the primaries, they denied them the opportunity of registering their names because they believe the more they allow those members to shrink, the more they would have an upper hand forgetting that there is God in everything we are doing. So, I pray for forgiveness for them, I pray they would turn a new leaf.”
He vowed to succeed Senator Ibikunle Amosun in 2019, maintaining that his vast of experiences would play out as the next governor of the State.
