Special Adviser to the governor of Bayelsa State on Inter-Party Relations, Hon. Ben Eyororokumoh, has urged party leaders in the state to always be mindful of their actions and utterances on matters concerning public interest.
He gave the advice while receiving the new leadership of the state chapter of the Conference of Nigeria Political Party (CNPP), led by chairman, Golden Agagawei, along with Sokari Jackson, (vice chairman) and the secretary, Niko Namatebe.
He solicited their cooperation and support for the government and encourage compromising constructive criticism, reminding them the state belonged to all Bayelsans.
“Any issue that will lead to blackmail should not be encouraged. If we support the leaders in power today, tomorrow others will support us when we assume leadership office,” he stated.
He said the state administration was determined to strengthen its partnership with all parties and called for cooperation and support.
The Special Adviser also charged the executive members of Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC) and the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) to unite towards the progress of the state.
Also, erstwhile IPAC chairman , Oniekpe Prince, , appealed to all the party leaders to complement government’s effort at developing the state by providing useful advice.
Responding, the new CNPP chairman, Golden Agagawei, said the body would charter a new course by avoiding the mistakes of the past.
