This was just as the party faulted recent media report on the defection of 1,500 members to the APC in the state, describing the report as outrageous propaganda.
Spokesperson of the party said this in an interview, declaring further that 2019 would be the beginning of the end of the APC-led government in the state.
According to Gani, who said the PDP has since successfully resolved its internal crisis and is set to embark soon on an aggressive membership drive that would be followed by free and fair governorship primary to position it for victory in 2019, the performance of the incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode as been “dismal.”
He said the situation had led Lagosians to eagerly await the PDP to take over and deliver purposeful leadership in the state.
“With the new spirit in PDP in Lagos, we are sure of winning in 2019. “Lagosians are eagerly waiting for the PDP to take over and deliver purposeful leadership,” he said.
Gani vowed that the PDP would shock the APC come 2019, saying that his party was already armed with novel ideas to wrestle the APC from power in the state.
He, however, did not elaborate on other strategies to be adopted, saying such strategies would be unveiled as time goes on.
“We will shock the APC in 2019, take my words, we already have lots of novel ideas to wrestle them from power.
“For now, we will keep our strategies sealed, when the game starts, we will unleash them,” Gani said.
Speaking further, the PDP chieftain said that the Lagos State governor, Mr Ambode had failed in purposeful governance, contending that what Lagosians were witnessing was cheer propaganda, whereas residents desired change, which could only come from PDP.
“Ambode has failed in purposeful governance, what we see is propaganda and project planet, the people desire change, which is PDP,” he said.
On the recent media report on the defection of PDP members in the state, the PDP spokesperson said it was laughable to hear that 1,500 PDP members decamped to APC in Oshodi.
Gani, who said he is from Oshodi-Isolo, maintained that the area remained the strongest base of PDP, adding that the party won all elective offices in the area in 2015 elections, in spite the presence of the APC state chairman in the area.
