Details emerge on Oyo govt MOU to handover GCI to Old Boys

More details have emerged on the recent Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Oyo State Government and the Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association (GCIOBA) regarding thhool.e operation of the sc

The MOU signed between the two parties concerns the management, operation and development of the school.

Highlights of the agreement according to a statement by Vice President, GCIOBA, Tola Obembe shows that governing board of the GCI will be responsible for the administration of the school.

To join the governing board in administration of the school are representatives of the state government and the Parents Teachers Association.

Also contained in the agreement are that the Old Boys will continue to develop the infrastructure of the school, improve its teaching methods and train the staff to actualize the objectives of enhancing the quality of teaching.

In requesting the state government to handover management, operation and development of the school to it, the old students disclosed that it had already spent over N2billion on the school.

This is as the old boys pledged to retain the free education policies of the present administration to the effect that no tuition fees will be paid by the students of the school.
