A thirty-year-old woman, Funmilayo Olorunyomi had approached a Customary Court sitting in Ikole-Ekiti, Ekiti State, seeking the dissolution of her three year-old marriage to her husband, Olubodun Babalola.
Funmilayo told the court that her husband destroys her personal belongings whenever there is a misunderstanding between them.
According to her, there was a time her husband destroyed her mattress, DVD player and clothes among other things.
The plaintiff claimed that her husband did not pay her dowry and was not taking proper care of her and their only child.
She prayed the court to grant her custody of their only son, who she said was still very young.
The defendant denied all the allegations leveled against her.
He said he mistakenly hit some of the property she claimed were destroyed by him when they were quarrelling and that he had since apologised to her.
The court president, Mrs Yemisi Ojo after listening to both parties adjourned the case till June 19.
