Despite 3 collaborations, Wizkid yet to meet Drake

Plans may have been concluded by Sony Music to unveil Wizkid and Drake’s collaboration, but information reaching R revealed that the two superstars are yet to meet physically.

Wizkid, who is signed to Sony Music International, has never hidden his aspiration to take over Africa with his music even as he pushes his brand outside the shores of Africa to do collaborations with international acts.

It is, however, surprising to find out that despite working together on three songs with the fourth one yet to be released, Wizkid and Drake, R gathered have never met in person.

In 2016, the duo alongside Kyla shutdown the summer with ‘One Dance’, one of the hit tracks off Drake’s album, Views, but Wizkid was sent his part of the production and voice to Drake’s group where the final mixing was done.

The Ojuelegba crooner was once again not featured in the video for that song, which would have been the best for a one-on-one meet.

A source close to Wizkid confirmed to R that the busy schedules of the OVO and Starboy bosses have prevented them from meeting one on one. However, it was gathered that they may finally meet anytime from now, as Drake is set to go on a 2017 world tour that should include stops in Lagos and Accra, in Ghana.

A new collaboration between Wizkid and American star, Drake, titled Hush Up The Silence has found its way online.

Although Hush Up The Silence is described as Wizkid featuring Drake, the details of its release are unclear, as it surfaced online unofficially on Sunday morning.

Drake featured in Wizkid’s Ojuelegba remix with Skepta in 2015. This was way before he featured Wizkid on his chart-topping song “One Dance.”

In the excitement created by the leak came another leak: That Drake and Wizkid also have another song in the works: It is titled: Come Closer.
