The most prestigious Africa’s premier design festival, Design Week Lagos, (DWL), has returned to a global stage from October 23rd to October 27th with the theme ‘’ The Role of Design in Economic Evolution’’
DWL has emerged as a key platform for showcasing cutting-edge designs from African innovators and fostering global partnerships that drive industrial growth.
This year’s DWL talks keynote addresses from Her Excellency Hannatu Musawa, Minister of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, alongside global designer leaders such as Benedict Radcliffe and Myles Igwebuike.
There will also be an exploration of diverse topics, including Radcliffe’s hands-on session on design collaboration with Nigerian designer Dapo Olatunji.
Meanwhile, notable exhibitions will include the Made by Design Show, Nigeria’s largest furniture event, and the National Design and Innovation Competition (NDIC). The NDIC will showcase innovative work across five design disciplines, positioning young Nigerian talents globally.
Thus, this year’s DWL will partner with NIPOST to challenge young designers to transform Nigeria’s postal workshops into modern creative hubs.
