Chairman of the Planning Committee, Diocese of Oke Osun, Anglican Communion of Nigeria’s 25th Anniversary, High Chief Adewuyi Adetunji, made the call at St Paul’s Cathedral, Gbongan, Osun State, at a press conference to herald the anniversary.
“It is a sabotage,” reiterated the chairman, who is also the founder of the Christ Inner Circle, a society that has been contributing to the growth of the diocese.
He noted that, while he did not count it as failure on the part of the government, yet he wondered how a group of people could plunge the nation into “this mess” every December to January.
In the same vein, the chairman, who was a staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from 1967 to 1973, described it a shame that Nigerians withdrew dirty notes from the ATM and get new notes to buy and spray at parties.
He also called on the indigenes of Oke-Osun Diocese, home and abroad, to contribute to the development of the diocese and liberate it from paucity of funds.
Meanwhile, secretary of the planning committee, Chief Biodun Olapade, has blamed parents for Nigerian youths’ waywardness.
He said nowadays, parents preferred to spoil their children rather than bring them up in discipline as their own parents did. That, he noted, made Nigerian youths to lack discipline. He urged them to embrace hard work to achieve success in their endeavours.
