Delta: Tantita hands over new Police station to Ugborikoko division

In a remarkable show of public-private partnership, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) today commissioned a state-of-the-art Divisional Police Station in Ugborikoko, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, reaffirming its commitment to national security and community development.

The commissioning ceremony, held amidst celebration by residents and security stakeholders, marked the official handover of the modern Ugborikoko Police Division Headquarters, fully constructed and furnished by Tantita.

Representing the Chairman and Board of Directors of TSSNL, the Managing Director, Kestin Pondi described the facility as a “symbol of shared commitment to safety, security, and progress,” highlighting the role of the Nigeria Police Force as the frontline guardians of peace.

“This occasion is not merely the unveiling of a new building, but a celebration of our collective dedication to rebuilding the peace in Warri and improving security across Effurun and its environs,” Pondi stated.

The new facility boasts a purpose-built police station, a quarter guard post, a generator house, a functional drainage system, and a reconstructed police hall.

It is also equipped with two operational Hilux vehicles, a 30kVA soundproof generator, a 30kVA solar system, CCTV surveillance, computer systems, air conditioners, televisions, printers, and fully fitted conference and interrogation rooms.

“As a private security company with local roots and global reach, Tantita understands that no society can thrive without peace and security,” Pondi noted, stressing that a secure environment is essential for economic growth and investment.

The project was inaugurated by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, who was represented by AIG Salman-Dogo Garba of Zone 5.

The IGP, in a statement delivered at the event, commended Tantita’s leadership for their significant contribution to national security and policing.

“This facility is not just where officers will work. It will be a hub for positive engagement between the police and the people — a cornerstone for building safer communities,” the IGP said.

The event was graced by dignitaries, including the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kingsley Emu, Delta State Commissioner of Police CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, and several other top-ranking officers, traditional rulers, and religious leaders.

Highlighting Tantita’s broader impact on national development, Engr. Pondi pointed to the company’s role in enhancing oil production through improved pipeline security.

“Since our operations began in August 2022, Nigeria’s crude oil production has increased from under 700,000 barrels per day to 1.7 million barrels per day,” he revealed, noting the potential to reach 2 million barrels per day by year’s end.

Pondi urged stakeholders, including state governors and oil operators, to continue supporting security initiatives.

He said, “Better security leads to better productivity, and that in turn drives infrastructural development like the one we see today.”

The IGP concluded by assuring the people of Ugborikoko of the police’s readiness to deliver service with integrity and professionalism. “The donation reflects not just a commitment to the well-being of the community, but a deep trust in the role of the police in maintaining law and order.”

The Ugborikoko Police Station, headed by the DPO, CSP Temi Agbede Zuokuomo, now stands as a beacon of hope, efficiency, and collaboration — a model for security-driven development across the nation.
