Delta: Okekpolo congratulates Ikpuri on SWEF appointment

The pioneer Director of the International Forum for Women in Energy, Oil, and Gas, Delta State Chapter, Ogochukwu Okekpolo, has congratulated Chief Dr. Eya Ikpuri on her inauguration as the Delta State Coordinator for the Southern Women Empowerment Forum (SWEF).

In a congratulatory message, Okekpolo described Ikpuri’s appointment as a testament to her proven track record, patriotic spirit, and unwavering commitment to advancing women’s empowerment, gender equality, and social transformation.

Okekpolo also decried the increased vulnerability to violence and exploitation faced by women, including stereotypes and biases, limited access to resources and opportunities, poor health outcomes, and reduced economic growth and development.

While commending Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s dedication to empowerment and improved policies and laws protecting gender equality, Okekpolo affirmed that Ikpuri’s leadership of SWEF in Delta State will lead to transformative change.

This change is expected to foster augmented economic growth and development, strengthen social cohesion and stability, and alleviate poverty and inequality.
