Delta govt, stop these illegal levies

Why is the Delta State government silent on the issue of unnecessary levies imposed on property purchasers by community youths in some parts of the state?

I am aware that the Delta State government has built a housing estate to ease the cost of acquiring property in the state. But, truth told, not everyone can access this scheme while others may prefer privately—owned property.

Some youths in Ogwa Ogbeowele Quarters Okpanam in Oshimili North Local Government  Area of Delta State have made it mandatory for those who buy land to continue paying levies until they complete their  building projects.

Such levies include Ogbeowele general, central working committe levy, student levy, Okpanam land registration revenue and surveillance, Diokpa levy, Okwalege.

Others are paid as work progresses on the building.

Each of these levies cost N100,000 and above, with the exception of Okpanam land registration (revenue and surveillance).

I appeal to the Delta State government and the Ministry of Lands and Survey to look into this issue and find a way to reduce the cost and number of these levies.

Thanks in anticipation.
