GBARAMATU kingdom is currently agog as Vice President Yemi Osinbajo pays an official visit for an on-the-spot assessment of some oil-bearing parts of troubled Delta State.
This is coming barely six weeks after the traditional ruler of Gbaramatu Kingdom, HRM Williams Ogoba, Oboro Gbaraun Agadagba Aketekpe, the 26th Pere of the kingdom was presented with a Staff of Office by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of the state.
Speaking on the VP’s visit, acting secretary of the Gbaramatu Traditional Council, Chief Godspower Gbenekama, described it as a welcome development.
According to the scribe, the visit is a sign that the Federal Government is beginning to wake up to its responsibility to the region.
Representatives of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) including the leader, Chief Edwin Clark are expected to make a presentation during the visit.
The VP is also expected to have a forum with other stakeholders at PTI conference center in the afternoon as well as pay to Ughelli and other parts of Urhobo land.
