DelFest 2024 closes in a blaze of music

Published by

The four disc jockeys (DJs) treated Asaba revellers to an enthralling evening on Sunday, November 24, to draw curtains on the maiden DelFest 2024.

Though the earlier advertised music act, Odumodublvk, didn’t make the show due to what organisers termed ‘irreconcilable differences’, the DJs and hypemen treated the audience to a great time.

Female DJ Dope Caesar, the veteran Humility, Hilson and Cent G ruled the roost from 7.30 pm on Sunday, November 24, to 4.00 am on Monday, November 25, 2024, in a fitting finale to the three-day multi-pronged business and entertainment festival.

The festive atmosphere was unmistakable as young men and women danced to jams spilling from the turntables.

Explaining Odumodublvk’s absence in a statement entitled ‘DelFest Hails DJs Dope Caesar and Humility, Others’, they said: “We, the organisers of DelFest 2024, would like to apologise to fans that bought tickets to see Odumodublvk perform but could not do so. His absence was due to irreconcilable differences. However, we are gratified with the exceptional performances of DJs Dope Caesar and Humility, who were also on the performance bill. They took the crowd to Cloud 9 and back.

“Indeed, it was a promise kept despite the absence of one act. DelFest promises to give our fans across Nigeria a memorable festival in 2025. We extend the same hand of fellowship to our numerous vendors who also kept faith. As first events are wont to go, missteps are inevitable. But be assured of exceptional DelFest outings in the future. We will not relentlessly expand the business space in Delta State and Nigeria to take our young ones off the streets of crime and criminality, with a dose of entertainment thrown in.”

The DelFest 2024 business exhibition showcase saw Asaba businesspersons take stalls to exhibit their goods and services. The first day featured a business networking dinner with CEOs and business owners in attendance. The Chief of Staff to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and former Assembly member Hon. Johnson Erijo was present. He was accompanied by Obi Cubana, Chief Emeka Okonkwo (E-Money), Abig Nwakwo, and Ginger Eke.

Others were DelFest sponsors and representatives of real estate network marketing company PWAN Group, led by its Chairman, Chief Michael Afamefuna Okonkwo, Vice President Dr. Frederick Okpaje, Group Executive Director, Corporate Communication and Events and Executive Director, PWAN Premium, Dr. Vera Oberabor.
