Defence Minister visits Jigawa monarch over son’s death

Jigawa came to a standstill recently when Defence Minister Alhaji Muhammed Badaru Abubakar visited Hadejia city to offer condolences to Emir Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje, who lost his son, Umar Farouk Abubakar Maje.

The minister’s arrival at noon caused a three-hour traffic congestion along a three-kilometer stretch, as supporters and well-wishers thronged to receive him.

Upon arrival at the emir’s palace, Badaru Abubakar expressed shock and described Umar Farouk’s death as a great loss to the emirate and state.

He prayed that Allah grant him Aljantul Fiddus.

The Emir of Hadejia thanked the minister and his entourage for the visit, acknowledging the honor and gratitude.

The Defence Minister was accompanied by prominent figures, including Deputy Governor Eng. Aminu Usman Gumel, APC state Chairman Aminu Sani Gumel, and former Speaker Jigawa state House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Idris Garba Jahun.

The group also visited Senator Ubali Shitu to condole with him over the loss of his mother, Hajiya A’i Idris Magama.
