Declare gas explosion site monument, Maku tells Al-makura

Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura

A gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), in Nasarawa State, Labaran Maku, has urged Governor Umaru Al-Makura to declare the area of the gas explosion a monument.

The Director-General of Maku’s campaign organization, Nawani Aboki, made the call in an interview with Newsmen on Wednesday in Lafia. He added that the government should commence an investigation into the process of approving the siting of a gas station within the residential area.
Aboki said that the government should also declare state mourning due to the devastation the explosion had caused to the families of the affected person and the general public. The DG also condemned the declaration of the seat of Mapka Malla, Member Representing Wamba Constituency vacant by the House of Assembly over his recent defection from All Progressives Congress (APC), to APGA.
He assured the people of the constituency that APGA would ensure they reclaim their mandate in court.
Aboki called on all the electorates to vote for candidates of APGA in 2019 general elections because the other parties have failed the State.
He said the party is presenting the best governorship material in person of Maku and in other positions.
The DG added that the party campaign organisation and other critical stakeholders of the party would soon meet to chose a running mate for Maku.
