How to deal with receding hairline

RECEDING hairline is the loss of hair, which begins from the front section of the head. Receding hairlines are common problems for both men and women, but mostly in men. It can be caused by different factors, including old age, genetics and diseases.

Mr Seyi Adelaja, of Big Shene Barbing Salon, who affirmed that aging is one of the causes of receding hairline, said: “When a man or a woman reaches the age of 40 and above, they tend to start losing hair from the front of his/her head. Sometimes, for the men, receding hairline is aided by barbers, because most barbers like shaping their customers’ hair in the effort to make the style look good, and in that process such a person tends to start losing hair.

Another hair stylist, Mr Timi Bankole, who spoke to Makeover, said receding hairline could be as a result of genetics, such as when one has parental history of baldness. For cases like that, there is a real chance that their offspring will have receding hairlines.

Cure for receding hairlines

According to Adelaja, there are many creams that can be used to cure loss of hair, but the most preferable one is going natural, which involves leaving the hair to grow by itself.

He said: “Using hair booster can have repercussion, as it may end up causing more damage to the hair. Also, try to avoid cutting styles that would involve shaping the front part of the hair.”
